won the Gold cup of the 5th GCC Powerlifting  Championship??

The Championship was officially opened  in Bahrain by Shaikh Salman Ben Ibrahim Al Khalifah

Sheikh Daij Ben Khalifah Al Khalifah, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Disabled Sport in GCC Countries at the end of the competition

 

A total of 38 lifters from the six Gulf countries:    Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and United Arab Emirates participated in the tournament. The competition was sanctioned by the Powerlifting Section in IPC and was attended and supervised by:

*      Pol Wautermartens: Chairman, International Powerlifting Committee, IPC

*      Dr. Marina Bashkirova: Secretary, International Powerlifting Committee, IPC

*      Dr. Bassam Qasrawi: International Classifier,  Powerlifting, Athletics, and Fencing IPC

*      Essam Mohammad Kamal: Chairman of Technical Committee (GCC Organizing Committee for Sport for the Disabled)

*      Dr. Ahmad Al-Nea'ma and Salam Al-Saridi: Members of Technical Committee

Sabah Gh Alanzi from Kuwait is a brand new lifter. He was sick. He is paraplegic and got a U.T. infection. He was also much worried.

Ali Abdullah Mohamed from Qatar lifted 187.5 Kg, a new GCC Record in above 100 Kg weight.

Mohammad Khamis Khalaf from UAE whose body weight is 83.5 Kg recorded the highest lift in the competition by lifting 212.5 Kg
