25th GCC Games for the Disabled

5th GCC Athletics Championship

Sharjah – UAE 11-16/10/2003

A total of 145 athletes from the six Gulf countries: Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Sultanate of Oman and United Arab Emirates participated in the tournament Results are available in the Arabic Page only:  

  • Visual impairment: 25 athletes.
  • Cerebral Palsy: 49 athletes.
  • Locomotor disability: 71 athletes.

A new world record of 7.15 m was achieved in the tournament by Ahmad M. Abdullah from Kuwait in Shot Put Class F32 .
 The Games were organized by the UAE federation for Sports for the disabled. His Highness Dr. Sultan ben Mohammad Al-Qasemi , Governor of Sharjah attended the opening ceremony.

The competition was sanctioned by the IPC Athletics Section and was attended and supervised by:
